Deputy Governor of Aden discusses with the Belgian Doctors Without Borders mission increasing cooperation in the health sector

Deputy Governor of Aden the capital, Secretary-General of the Local Council / Badr Moa’oun Saeed, discussed with the new head of the Belgian Doctors Without Borders mission, Mr. Amr Ibrahim, and Mr. Ewald Stals, former head of the mission, and Masoud Mubarak Al-Qadri, advisor to the head of the mission, the possibility of expanding areas of support for the city of Aden in the field of the health sector, especially with regard to the health of illegal African immigrants who cause the spread of many serious diseases and epidemics such as fever, cholera, and others.

The Deputy Governor of the capital, Aden, Secretary-General of the Local Council, welcomed the new head of the Belgian Doctors Without Borders mission, stressing the keenness of the governorate leadership, represented by the Minister of State, Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, to facilitate the mission’s tasks, praising the efforts made by Mr. Ewald Stals during his time as head of the mission and the support provided by the mission to our country and to the city of Aden in particular, especially in confronting the Corona pandemic, cholera, dengue fever and others.

The meeting discussed the importance of giving priority to the issue of the health of illegal immigrants in the work of the Belgian Doctors Without Borders mission in the next stage, as Moa’oun stressed the commitment of the governorate leadership, represented by Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, to the International Organization for Migration, in providing a basis for establishing a special camp to accommodate illegal African immigrants outside the city of Aden between the governorates of Aden and Lahj.

For his part, the head of the Doctors Without Borders mission expressed his keenness to expand areas of cooperation in the health sector. Expressing his thanks to the leadership of the capital, Aden, for their readiness and continuous cooperation in facilitating the mission of the Belgian Doctors Without Borders mission.
