Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs: No Secret Prisons in Aden or Hadhramaut
Brigadier General Ali Naser Lakhshaa, deputy minister of internal affairs, indicated that all prisons are under legal jurisdiction of the ministry and there are no secret prisons in Aden or Hadhramaut. During his visit to Bear Ahmed corrective facility, in accompaniment of general Saleh Abd Al-Habeeb, director of prisons department, Lakhshaa indicated that media should broadcast the truth to public opinion without falsities.
Deputy minister of internal affairs appreciated the serdeputys provided by wardens of Bear Ahmed Corrective facility and thanked UAE government for supporting all departments of the ministry.
Lakhshaa negated media rumors about secret prisons in Bear Ahmed – Aden or Al-Raian – Hadhramaut. He added that any family with a missing person should register his name in Aden security office and he will be searched for and located. In addition, he said that only courts of justice will have the final word in this issue. He also indicated that all those proved innocent by DA office or ended their terms are now under release while other arrested persons are under interrogation.
General Mohamed Musaed Al-Amir, deputy of the ministry for police affairs, General Shallal Ali Shaia, chief of Aden Police and Security Department, Brigadeir Nasser Al-Anboury, commander of special forces and Ghassan Al-Akrabi, warden of Bear Ahmed corrective facility, attended the visit in addition to other human rights activists and media men.
