Director of Transitional Council Foreign Office in Canada meets Canadian parliamentarian for international trade affairs

The Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Southern Transitional Council in Canada, Abdul Karim Ahmed Saeed, discussed with Mr. Chandra Araya; the member of the Canadian Parliament in the International Trade Affairs Committee, the latest developments in the Yemeni and Southern arena in particular, and the importance of implementing the Riyadh Agreement.

In the meeting, Saeed reiterated the Southern Transitional Council’s keenness to implement all the terms of the Agreement and what resulted from it, such as forming a government of parity between the south and the north, and the Transitional Council’s keenness to support it to carry out its duty towards our people to alleviate its human suffering in various service, health, security and educational aspects, and improve the living life of citizens. .

During the meeting, Saeed called on the Canadian government to exert its pressure to end the human suffering of the Southern people, as well as to oblige the other party to implement its obligations in the Riyadh Agreement, to reach a comprehensive policy settlement under the supervision of the United Nations, to bring peace to the South, Yemen and the region, stressing that there can be no peace and sustainable solution to the Yemen crisis without resolving the Southern issue is a just solution to the satisfaction of the people of the South.

Saeed also called on the Canadian government to provide relief and humanitarian aids, including medical, food, and economic and financial support for our people to get out of this humanitarian ordeal, in addition to its support for efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, which is still a real threat in many regions.

The meeting touched on the importance of the visit of the delegation of the Southern Transitional Council, headed by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Council, to the Russian capital, Moscow, upon an official invitation from the Russian leadership, to mobilize support and international support for the cause of the South, as it is the cause of a people and a homeland for which Southerners have sacrificed convoys of martyrs and wounded since 1994 .

For his part, Mr. Chandra expressed his readiness to work to mobilize support and assistance for the people of the South and Yemen in general, to alleviate the human suffering, through the Canadian Ministry of Development and International Cooperation.

The two sides agreed to continue the communication, and to follow up on a number of issues that were brought to Mr. Chandra through the phone call after the direct meeting was not possible due to the Corona pandemic at the present time.

At the end of the call, Saeed extended his thanks to the Canadian government, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, for its understanding and cooperation towards the issue of the South, as the Southerners, the Transitional Council and its office in Ottawa are looking to increase pressure and diplomatic action internationally in order to support the demands of the people of the South to restore the Southern state and provide the possible aids, and enhance the process of communication and mutual relationships in the future.
