SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Decision-Making Support Center (DMSC) in the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its first special meeting for the current year, 2023, on Monday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, head of the center.
The meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah bin Mashdoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, stressed the importance of controlling and following up the religious endowment in the cities and governorates of the South and subjecting this endowment to strict control and dictated laws emanating from the religious heritage in the South, highlighting that this endowment should be utilized for the interest of the people of the South and its economic resources.
While the meeting considered that the issue of the endowment and religious discourse have become not only the responsibility of official institutions, religious scholars, and preachers but also a matter of public record in the capital, Aden, and the South in general, it recommended the importance of establishing a southern legal body concerned with the direct responsibility of caring spread for and following-up issues of encroachment and intruding on real estate and endowment lands, and moderately-oriented religious discourse and sermons in the South.
The meeting called on the leadership of the South at all political, social, and religious levels to promote moderation and the Middle Way in religious sermons and guidance discourse in the South and to prevent any inflammatory sermons that contradict the teachings of our true Islamic religion and its straight, moderate approach, in addition to implanting the seeds of tolerance, reconciliation, and coexistence to confront extremist and aligned phenomena seeping into our cultures based on hatred, terrorism, and violence.
During the meeting, the attendees raised certain interventions and suggestions that enriched this topic in preparation to be submitted as recommendations to the leadership of the STC.
