First comment from the government on assassination attempt against Minister of Civil Service

The government expressed its condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms for the sinful and terrorist assassination attempt that targeted the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, on Thursday in the temporary capital, Aden, and considered it among the desperate attempts by some parties that seek to obstruct the consensus and the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in various ways and methods.

The government affirmed in a statement that all criminal attempts to target the government and its members will not discourage it from carrying out its duties and assume its responsibilities in these difficult circumstances and work for the sake of serving the citizens, and will not surrender to all the obstacles placed before it.

The statement pointed out that Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik issued immediate directives to the competent authorities to conduct urgent investigations to uncover the circumstances of the assassination attempt that targeted the Minister, and to pursue and punish those involved, stressing that the government, with the cooperation of all, will spare no effort in working to enhance stability and will not be discouraged by such terrorist attempts to fulfill its role.

The statement said, “While we reassure citizens of the safety of the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, and that he is not harmed due to this criminal attempt, the government confirms that it will remain steadfast in the face of criminal and sabotage acts and will spend all dearly and precious for the sake of achieving stability and carrying out its responsibilities and duties.
