Foreign Affairs of STC discusses with UNOPS its role in governorates of the South

The Head of the International Organizations section of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mr. Raafat Al-Alawi, met on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, with Eng. Ramses Younis, the head at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) for the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Al-Dhalea.

The meeting discussed the role played by the UNOPS in implementing various projects in the South and its interventions in various sectors such as water, solar energy, and other sectors.

During the meeting, Al-Alawi expressed the readiness of STC to provide assistance to overcome the difficulties facing the work of UNOPS, and to alleviate the suffering of the citizens.

In the meeting, Eng. Younis reviewed aspects of cooperation and coordination between the UNOPS and the STC, and the most prominent needs to raise the pace of work in implementing projects.

The meeting was attended by Hossam Abdullah, Assistant for Services and Logistics Support of the UNOPS, and Ahmed Al-Wali, Head of the Coordination and Facilitation office for Movement of International Organizations.
