General Secretariat Dismayed by Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 3 with Aim of Starving People of the South

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC’s Presidium and deputy secretary general, and in the presence of Eng. Nizar Haitham, member of the STC’s Presidium.

The meeting stood before the Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 3 of 2023, which included approving the recommendations of the Supreme Economic Council (SEC) regarding raising the customs price of imported goods by fifty percent, in addition to raising the selling price of oil derivatives, water and electricity tariffs, and fund accounts.

The STC’s General Secretariat dismayingly emphasized not accepting such resolutions, calling on the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) to take measures that ensure the urgent cancellation of such resolutions because of the catastrophic consequences aimed at starving citizens in the liberated governorates, mainly the people of the South, stopping the wheel of development, and serving the Houthi militia that are not subject to such resolutions.

The Secretariat, too, called on the countries of the Arab coalition to urgently intervene to cease the systematic deterioration and chaos, stressing that the STC, as a representative of the people of the South will never go unheeded towards this chaos and mess targeting the people of the South.

Furthermore, the Secretariat applauded the people of the South on the 17th anniversary of the Southern Reconciliation and Tolerance Day as a great achievement through which the southerners launched their revolution against the injustice and tyranny practised by the Yemeni forces against the people of the South since the occupation in 1994.

The meeting discussed a report on the performance of the media department during the fourth quarter of the year 2022, and the most prominent activities performed by the department and its related organizational tasks during the aforementioned period.

The meeting reviewed and approved its previous minutes and the weekly reports pertaining to the key achievements of the departments of the Secretariat, in addition to the significant activities to be implemented during the next week.
