Governor Lamlas discusses with Ambassador of Netherlands efforts to enhance security sectors and seaports in Aden

Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Governor of the capital, Aden, discussed with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to our country, Mr. Peter Derek Hof, on Sunday, the efforts to support the security sectors, and to enhance the capabilities of seaports, and activate commercial and economic activity in the capital.
During the meeting, which took place via video call, the governor of the capital, Aden, reviewed the efforts and measures taken by the local authority in the capital, Aden, to activate the state institutions at the administrative and security levels, and the role of this in strengthening and keeping pace with the government’s efforts in its plan towards recovery.
The Governor of Aden also reviewed before the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands a set of difficulties, obstacles and challenges in the economic, developmental and humanitarian aspects, which require intervention and a greater role from international, foreign and regional organizations, bodies and institutions to contribute to overcoming these difficulties to enhance economic recovery plans, improve services and meet the needs and requirements of the citizens in a fundamental way.
The governor of Aden discussed with the Dutch ambassador ways to support the capabilities of the security sectors in Aden and to enhance the current security plan, which has achieved great successes in combating the manifestations of carrying arms and roaming with them, as well as the car numbering campaign and obligating everyone to abide by traffic controls and the role of this in reducing crime and strengthening and stabilizing security and stability in Aden. .
The governor of the capital, Aden, expressed his appreciation for the positive role of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and its continuous support for our country in a number of service sectors, as well as training and rehabilitation, noting that the local authority in Aden, while appreciating this humanitarian role of the Kingdom of the Netherlands towards our country, looks forward to more support and intervention in the coming period, This will contribute to strengthening the authorities’ efforts to activate state institutions, improve service conditions, and advance the country economically and developmentally.
For his part, the Dutch ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to support the capital, Aden, in terms of rehabilitating and developing the capabilities of the administrative and security staff, as well as developing the capabilities of seaports in terms of strengthening the navigational security system to enhance commercial and economic activity, stressing the keenness of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to support the efforts of the local authority in Aden to normalize life and advance the different sectors of state.
The Dutch ambassador also affirmed his country’s support for the efforts keen to create the appropriate atmosphere and help to find a solid ground that allows the space, and devote all efforts towards construction and development and addressing the effects of conflicts and wars.
The Dutch ambassador pointed out that the Riyadh Agreement and its entry into force contributed greatly to reducing conflicts, stressing the need to build on what has been achieved in the agreement and the importance of this in paving the way for efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement and establish lasting peace in Yemen.
