Governor Lamlas meets with Acting Director of World Food Program office

The Governor of the Capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, met on Thursday, with Mr. Anthony Sabiti, the Acting Director of the World Food Program Office in Aden, and number of the program officials.
During the meeting, Lamlas and Sabiti discussed the implications of the spoiled food issue that was recently seized in the warehouses of the program, where Mr. Sabiti explained the reasons that led to the expiration of these quantities of foodstuffs.
The two sides touched on the mechanism of distributing cash assistance and the need to develop it to ensure easy receipt by the beneficiaries.
In turn, the governor affirmed the local authority’s confidence in Aden in the program’s officials and their dissatisfaction with the spoilage of these quantities of food, appreciating the conditions in which the program operates compared to what the country is going through due to the war and its repercussions at all levels.
The governor assured that the local authority in Aden is looking forward to the non-impact of this incident, which has become in the hands of the judicial bodies represented by the Public Prosecution, on the work and interventions of the World Food Program, reiterating Aden authority’s full support for the program and working to overcome any difficulties facing the implementation of its projects.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue the process of communication and coordination between the local authority in the capital, Aden, and the program during the next phase.
