Governor Lamlas meets with Director of Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen

The governor of Aden the capital, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, met on Saturday, with Eng. Ahmed Madkhali, Director of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in Aden.
In the meeting, Governor Lamlas expressed his appreciation for the great support provided by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which came within the framework of the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz for the Yemeni people with the aim of overcoming the current exceptional stage that it is going through as a result of the war waged by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.
The two sides discussed the progress of work in the projects implemented by the Saudi program in a number of sectors in the capital Aden, in which work was launched earlier, as well as the reasons for the failure of work in some projects and ways to address them.
Eng. Madkhali, director of the Saudi program in Aden, said that the Shahinaz and Caltex-Al-Haswa road projects will be completed before the coming month of Ramadan, provided that work begins directly on other projects approved within the program’s plan.
Madkhali pointed out that the contract for the rehabilitation project of Aden International Airport has recently been signed, and work will be launched in the coming days, in which he also confirmed the completion of all equipment for the rehabilitation of the Sport Hall in Sheikh Othman, as well as making great strides in the project of restoration and rehabilitation of Aden General Hospital, indicating that work in it is proceeding in full capacity, and very soon completion of all the stages of its work will be announced.
Madkhali, in the context, talke about the approval of the program leadership in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to approve a number of new service projects for the current year 2021, which will be announced, and their tenders will be applied soon.
The Director of the Saudi program in Aden said that four of those approved projects belong to the education sector, and are the construction of four new schools in Aden the capital, to be added to the four schools currently being implemented, in addition to the rehabilitation project of Abyan Beach Corniche, in Khormakser district, and Gold Mohr Corniche in Tawahi district, in which work will be launched upon completion of the legal procedures for tenders.
