Governor of Socotra and Secretary-General of Had Organization launch first phase of food aid funded by World Food Program

The Governor of Socotra archipelago, Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, and the Secretary-General of Humanitarian Aid and Development Organization (HAD), Dr. Abdul Halim Dhaifallah, inaugurated the distribution of food aid for the first phase of the year 2023, provided by the World Food Program to targeted families in the governorate.
Governor Al-Thaqali praised the humanitarian support provided by the World Food Program, which contributes to alleviating the burdens on the people of the archipelago from the most vulnerable and needy families, expressing his deep appreciation for the role of the Humanitarian Aid and Development Organization, which is implementing the project in Socotra.
Al-Thaqali called on funding agencies to expand targeting and accommodate additional families who are in need of urgent intervention from donors.
For his part, the Secretary-General of HAD organization, said that HAD administration takes the opportunity to express its gratitude to the partners in the World Food Program, as well as the local authorities represented by the governor of Socotra, Eng. Raafat al-Thaqali, for attending and honoring this inauguration.
Dhaifallah indicated that the visit comes to evaluate the work of the organization in the governorate and to stand on the standard procedures followed in all activities, and then how to follow the mechanisms to develop and improve the work of the organization in Socotra.
