Governor of Socotra Asserts the Importance of Investment in Fisheries and Activating Fisheries Organizations
[su_label type=”info”]Socotra – SMA News [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_label type=”info”]Amman – SMA – PIC[/su_label][/su_spacer] Ahmed Abdullah Ben Hamdoun, Governor of Socotra, headed the meeting of chairmen of fisheries organizations and fisheries investment committee. The governor asserted the vital role of investment in fisheries as most citizens work in this sector. He also indicated that fisheries are major sources of national income as the archipelago contains the highest reserve of fish in Yemen that should be invested wisely. In addition, Ben Hamdoun indicated the importance of integrating fisheries organizations for the benefit of fishermen themselves as this help the National Association of Fisheries to enlist all fisheries and provide them with necessary capabilities. He also assured the role of these organizations in creating awareness among fishermen and preventing random fishing. The governor expressed his deep thanks for UAE for its vital role in the archipelago’s reconstruction and bringing investments. The meeting was attended by the general secretary of Hadibuah directorate.
