SMA NEWS – MUKALLA
Hadhramaut Valley and Desert Security Committee held a meeting chaired by the Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate for Valley and Desert Affairs, Mr. Amer Saeed Al-Amri, to discuss the latest security developments and current challenges in the governorate.
During the meeting, the committee affirmed its categorical rejection of any formations parallel to state institutions, warning of the consequences of such trends that seek to undermine state institutions. The committee emphasized that recruitment must be within the framework of the Ministries of Defense and Interior and their respective institutions.
The committee also reiterated its commitment to not bypassing state institutions, and that no party will be allowed to exploit the current circumstances to achieve personal gain or undermine security and stability in Hadhramaut. It warned that illegitimate formations contribute to the resumption of chaos and the escalation of conflicts.
The committee noted that some random checkpoints have begun extorting people in a blatant violation of order, law, and sovereignty. It emphasized that these actions target the security of Hadhramaut, a governorate recognized as a model of stability by the international and regional community.
The Security Committee called on community elites to fulfill their national role in supporting the Security Committee’s efforts, preserving the achievements of security and stability, and all national gains, and confronting any suspicious attempts to sow chaos or target Hadhramaut’s security.
The committee affirmed that it will continue its work with determination and vigilance and will not be complacent in confronting any threat to the security and stability of the governorate.
