HAQ Witnesses the Release of 46 Prisoners from Bear Ahmed’s Prison in Aden

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] With the attendance of representatives of IRC and Al-Khadr Al-Muiasery, chairman of HAQ organization of advocating rights and freedoms, 46 prisoners were released from Bear Ahmed’s Prison in Aden on Tuesday July 3rd, 2018. The prisoners were detained for several cases but judicial decisions were issued to release them as their detention was according to legal frameworks. Another 20 prisoners were released earlier in May 2018.
Ghassan Abd Al-Bari, the prison’s warden, indicated that the release was according to DA decisions while other detained prisoners were under legal procedures. Abd Al-Bari welcomed the visits of NGOs and other human rights organizations to the corrective facility to see for themselves as social media launched false claims about the facility under political allegations. He added that he felt sorry for such false claims by some journalists and websites and demanded them to visit the facility and seek the truth.
On the other hand, Al-Khadr Al-Muiasery, chairman of HAQ organization of advocating rights and freedoms, who attended the release along with IRC representatives, indicated that the release process was performed according to legal framework, he added that this step was in the right direction and appreciated the health and service conditions in the facility away from false news spread by parties that don’t want this society to be stable.
