Al-Khubaji stresses importance of legal aspect in formulating political visions of STC

Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), head of STC’s Negotiations Affairs Unit, stressed the importance of the role played by the Supreme Legal Committee in crystallizing the political visions of STC at various levels.

This came during his meeting with the head and members of the Legal Committee, in which he also stressed the importance of the concerted efforts in the various bodies of STC and working as one team to achieve the desired goals.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Al-Rubaizi, member of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, in which Al-Khubaji briefed the head and members of the Supreme Legal Committee on the results of the consultations held by President Al-Zubaidi and the negotiating delegation of the Transitional Council with the brothers in the Arab Coalition countries and the ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries, calling for redoubled efforts and readiness for the upcoming political entitlements in which the Southern Transitional Council will play a pivotal role as representative of the people of the South and their just cause.

On other side, the Supreme Legal Committee held its periodic meeting on Thursday, headed by Dr. Saad Mohammed Saad, Chairman of the Committee, in which the Committee discussed all the topics listed on its agenda and the instructions issued by the Presidency of STC to provide a legal opinion on them.

At the conclusion of its meeting, the committee issued an important statement, expressing its full solidarity with Judge Shakir Mahfouz Bennish, head of Hadhramout Appeal Prosecution, and its support for his courageous stances and sincere efforts to protect law and order and fight corruption in the governorate.

In the statement, the committee condemned the suspicious attempts to deport him and the attempt to ignore his role in combating corruption by extraneous elements in the judiciary who have positioned themselves as tools to protect corruption and the corrupt.

In its statement, the committee expressed its thanks and appreciation to all the southern community events that supported Judge Bennish and expressed their rejection of his dismissal, stressing the need to respect the judiciary and preserve its sovereignty.
