SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Head of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council “STC”, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, commented on the recent UN Security Council statement condemning the Houthi terrorist attacks on the Al-Dhabba oil port in Hadramout, describing them as “terrorist attacks.”

Al-Ghaithi said: “This comes as an affirmation of the importance and validity of the National Defense Council’s decision to classify the terrorist Houthi militia as a “terrorist group” similar to ISIS, al-Qaeda and Ansar al-Sharia.

Al-Ghaithi added: “There is no doubt that this decision represents the first real steps in the path of correction and confronting this rogue terrorist group.”

He stressed that: “We have demanded this for years in view of the crimes and terrorist acts that this group commit, and they should not continue to be considered in a framework outside this classification, at the very least.”

Al-Ghaithi noted: “The Presidential Leadership Council bears a joint national responsibility in exceptional circumstances, which will go in history, that require taking more measures that would end the danger of this extremist group, especially since uniting the ranks to confront it is the backbone of the existing partnership during this stage.”

He concluded: “Because this group represents a serious threat to the security of the region, its political and economic future, and international interests, energy security and shipping lanes. I call on the countries of the Arab region and the international community to classify the Houthi militia as a “terrorist group”, and to assume their joint responsibilities to protect the region and common interests.”
