Higher Health Committee of Southern Self-Administration issues important statement regarding return of those stuck abroad
The Higher Health Committee of the Southern Self-Administration issued on Thursday an important statement regarding the returnees stuck in some countries abroad, in which it said that according to the request of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Emergency Committee to confront the Corona virus and his contact with the head of the Southern Self-Administration, the Health Committee believes that the return of the stuck is considered an important humanitarian aspect, given the difficult financial conditions that they suffer in these countries, but the Committee stresses on the need to adhere to the health requirements necessary to ensure that the disease does not spread widely in our country in a way that is difficult to control.
The Health Committee called for giving sufficient time to arrange and organize the process of receiving arrivals and to ensure that the required conditions are met.
The committee indicated the necessity of preparing medical teams to implement the mechanism of medical procedures specified by the Ministry of Public Health and Population for airports, and training security personnel to apply preventive guidance to deal with the Corona virus, in addition to providing medical supplies at airports for medical personnel, security men, arriving passengers and other necessary needs to work safely.
The committee stressed on the notification of all those arriving to conduct a PCR medical examination in the country of departure 24 hours before leaving the country and bringing a medical certificate to that effect, and making the necessary arrangements for cases that require a quarantine or a home isolation or those showing satisfactory signs to refer them to the hospital that will receive them, and noted for those arriving to Aden International Airport, the possibility of infection with the virus does not constitute a greater risk since the infection is combined in Aden so they are allowed to enter with adherence to all previous conditions.
The committee said regarding Sayioun or Al-Riyan airport that the infection there is controlled, noting that hotels are available to quarantine the arrivals for a period of two weeks and then facilitate their transportation to their governorates in the event that no suspicious case appears in them, and if any suspicious case appears, it is sent to the hospital to do the necessary procedures.
The committee recommended that the travelers to be returned to the airports alternately, for example a first group returned to Aden airport, followed by another group to Sayioun airport after a week, and after another week another group to Riyan airport, stressing that they will not have any responsibility for infecting any of the arrivals after conducting with any infected or suspected case in the country and not complying with the home quarantine and preventive measures
