Human Rights Department holds its first meeting for the year 2021 with administrations in Aden

Aden the capital witnessed on Thursday, holding the first periodic meeting for the current year 2021 between the Human Rights Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, and the human rights departments of the Executive Authority for the Transitional Council in Aden the Capital and the executive bodies in the districts, in the presence of Eng. Nizar Haitham, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Executive Authority for the Transitional Council in the Capital, and his deputy Issam Abdo Ali.
Eng. Nizar stressed in the meeting the importance of concerted efforts and upgrading the institutional work to bring human rights work to the level of challenges, in a way enabling us to address international human rights organizations and inform them of the true image of the violations that the southern people face.
Haitham noted that the Human Rights Department and the corresponding departments in the local executive bodies in the capital Aden, have a great duty to monitor, document and prove cases that violate human rights, and pay attention to legal standards in writing reports and the importance of expediting the dealing with these violations.
For her part, Attorney Zikra Maatook, Head of the Human Rights Department at the General Secretariat, provided an integrated explanation of the administrative and organizational work that the department runs on and the standards followed in the investigation, monitoring and reporting process, stressing the importance of the departments in the capital Aden in assuming their full responsibility in monitoring violations and writing reports to deliver them to the concerned authorities.
Dr. Al-Shafea Al-Shalali, Director of the Human Rights Department in the Transitional Council Executive Authority in the Capital, and Directors of the Departments in the Transitional Council Executive Authority in the Capital’s districts spoke about the achievements made during the past year 2020, as well as the difficulties facing the conduct of the field landing process and monitoring violations, presenting proposals that would raise the pace of the joint administrative, organizational and professional work between the Human Rights Department and its equivalent departments in the capital Aden.
