SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate issued a statement on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, regarding the existing arrangements to establish a special framework for the issue of the people of the South in the upcoming negotiations for a comprehensive solution, in which it affirmed its support for the aspirations of the people of the South to restore their state on the entire southern soil.
In its statement, the Syndicate clarified that any solutions on the upcoming negotiating table detract from the right of the people of the South to restore their state on the geography before 1990 and their right to build their independent federal state will only be a continuation of the crisis and fuel for future crises and will not achieve the desired peace.

Hereunder is the statement:

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful
Statement of the Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate

The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate, along with the sons of our southern people, from Al-Mahra to Bab Al-Mandab, is following the course of arrangements for the political process for a comprehensive solution to the crisis in the country.
We in the Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate, as one of the trade union organizations and from the heart of southern civil society, affirm that the choices of the people of the South are indivisible and that the issue of the people of the South is the essence of the political solution, without which peace will not be achieved in the country or the region.

The Syndicate also affirms that any solutions on the upcoming negotiating table detract from the right of the people of the South to restore their state on the pre-1990 geography and their right to build their independent federal state, will only be a continuation of the crisis and fuel for future crises and will not achieve the desired peace.

The sacrifices of our people in the South and the blood of the martyrs that were shed on the altar of freedom and independence since the occupation of the South in 1994 and in the arenas of peaceful struggle, and all the sacrifices made by our southern people and their valiant southern forces on the fronts of honor, and are still making them until this moment, will not be wasted in searching for solutions that detract from the justice of their cause and right to restore their fully sovereign state.

In this regard, we, the sons of the word and the position of all members of the Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate, announce our full support for the just aspirations of the people of the South to restore their state, and for the firm positions held by President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, in waging the peace battle to restore the right of Southerners to restore their independent, fully sovereign southern state within the framework of independent negotiation for the cause of the people of the South in the negotiations for a comprehensive solution to the crisis.

The Syndicate believes that the demand of the people of the South to restore their state is not a secession that requires self-determination through a popular referendum as it is presented, but rather a right to restore a state that entered unity peacefully and this unity was overturned in 1994 and the time has come to restore this right without turning around, procrastinating in achieving it.

The Syndicate calls on all southern civil society organizations to stand united behind the just cause of our people and to make their voice heard to the local, regional and international community in rejecting all political solutions that do not meet the aspirations of the people of the South and their right to establish an independent, federal southern state.

The Syndicate salutes the Arab Coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, for its position on resolving the crisis through political negotiations and establishing a special framework for the issue of the people of the South, calling for this negotiating framework to be in all stages of negotiation and the value of the issue of the people of the South, and calling on it to continue its support for our southern people in this critical stage in which everyone needs security and stability, which will not be achieved without paying attention to the aspirations of the people of the South.

Tribute to martyrs of the South who sacrificed their lives in order to achieve its goal of a decent life in an independent southern state, Allah willing.
