Important statement issued by the Police of Aden the Capital
SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Moral Guidance and Public Relations Department of the Aden Police issued the first comment on the protests and demonstrations that are currently sweeping some of the capital’s directorates in Aden, which stated:
Our brothers… our sisters in Aden,
We live in difficult circumstances that require us all to unite and cooperate to preserve our city and its security. In light of the economic crises and the depletion of fuel at power stations and the water authority, we understand the feelings of anxiety and resentment that may afflict you.
Therefore, we would like to emphasize the following points:
1. The right to peaceful and civilized demonstration is a right guaranteed to all, and we must exercise this right in a way that expresses our demands without prejudice to the public interest.
2. Respect for public property. We urge everyone to avoid burning tires, blocking roads, or any actions that may lead to the destruction of public property, as this property belongs to everyone and must be preserved.
3. Expressing demands. The police and security forces in Aden exist to protect citizens and their rights, so we would like to point out your right to express your demands in a civilized manner, by organizing peaceful protests or submitting proposals to the relevant authorities instead of resorting to violence.
4. Solidarity and cooperation. Let us all cooperate to find realistic and sustainable solutions to the crises we face with our awareness and commitment, and work together to improve our conditions with sound steps.
Our citizens in the capital, Aden, we say to you, let us be a role model in peace and civilization, and work together for a better future for our city, and at the forefront is the preservation of public and private property.
