In a Massive Festival, Shabwa Citizens Demand Shabwa Elites to Secure Ataq
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Shabwa – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]O[/su_dropcap]n Monday June 25th, 2019, a massive public festival was held in Ataq – Shabwa to support Shabwa Elites troops and demand them to secure Ataq and the rest of Shabwa’s directorates due to their clear efforts in this respect. Crowds appreciated the significant role of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and UAE, all over the south.
Crowds marched the streets of Ataq declaring their denouncement of the northern manipulation of southern fortunes and refusing the so-called union that destroyed the south and robbed its fortunes for the interest of northern gangs. Crowds clearly indicated that the south is now under protection of southern troops capable of securing and defending its soil.
Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, member of the Southern Transitional Council’s presidency, Dr. Jafar Ben Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr, chairman of Hadhramaut local leadership, Sheikh Ali Mohsen Al-Solimani, chairman of Shabwa local leadership, and his deputy Mr. Aidarous Ba Owuda attended the festival in addition to heads of the council departments in the governorates, members and heads of local leaderships in the directorates, members and heads of executive associations, a number of tribal leaders and public figures.
Sheikh Ali Mohsen Al-Solimani, chairman of Shabwa local leadership, delivered a speech thanking citizens of Shabwa, Hadhramaut and Al-Majfed who supported the elites troops and talked about the important role of these troops in securing the governorate.
Dr. Jafar Ben Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr, chairman of Hadhramaut local leadership, also delivered a speech thanking citizens of Shabwa, Hadhramaut and Al-Majfed who supported the elites troops in their war for securing the south and defeating terrorism.
Several poems were recited during the festival and the festival ended with the following statement:
A statement of the massive festival of Shabwa held on Monday June 24th, 2019. Due to the current events in Ataq, the capital of Shabwa, and the tries to transfer clashes of enemy wings into Shabwa to control its fortunes, those wings didn’t like the stable and secure state of Shabwa that was achieved only by the sacrifices of our martyrs and the support of our brothers in the Arab Coalition.
Here we are today in Ataq, the capital of Shabwa, feeling the serious threats towards our governorate that may lead us back to chaos and disturbance we experienced before the deployment of our sons and brothers of Shabwa Elites troops. Here we are today asserting that are fully supporting Shabwa Elites and Southern Resistance Troops in addition to all our brothers in all military and security formations loyal to the south. We denounce the demonic plans of Al-Eslah Party that proved to be vicious enough to try to control our decision and our fortunes through creating subsidiary conflicts. As we are gathering here, we assert that:

- We appreciate the role of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE in supporting Shabwa citizens and the whole south in their war against the Iranian project and defeating its militias, and for their major role in imposing security and fighting terrorism through preparing and supporting Shabwa Elites Troops.
- We demand the Arab Coalition to stop the acts of the third military zone in Mareb that aim only to disturb the security of Shabwa leading it back to chaos and terrorism.
- We strongly denounce political loyalties in the security and military systems and call for all concerned bodies to assume their responsibilities to prevent that.
- The army, security troops, southern resistance and Shabwa Elites are all sons of Shabwa and we will never allow to implant haterd among them. We also hold brigade 21 responsible for initiating a suspicious agenda to explode the situation in Ataq that may lead to serious future consequences.
- All army camps and barracks, especially brigade 21, should be evacuated outside Ataq and security responsibility should be coordinated between internal security forces and Shabwa Elites due to their well-known role in preserving the governorate’s security.
- We completely refuse any northern military existence in Shabwa.
- We assert our previous demands of forming a separate military zone for Shabwa as this confused situation will continue unless disengagement with the third military zone in Mareb is achieved. Since the liberation war against Al-Houthi/Affash militias, Mareb continued to hinder military and logistic support to military units in Shabwa in addition to denying them their right in military readiness and stopping payment of officers’ and soldiers’ salaries for more than ten months. They also confiscated the rights of martyrs and injured in Shabwa.
- We demand all military and political bodies in Shabwa to lineup in the face of all plans targeting the security of Shabwa and the whole south.
