The Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, on Tuesday, in his office in Aden the capital, received the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Janit Sieben, and the First Secretary of the Embassy, Tessa Shkulman, reviewing efforts to normalize life in the city and stabilize the situation.

Lamlas said that the local authority in Aden can not work normally, due to political instability, stressing that development work has not reached the desired level, despite what has been achieved in the past period, with will and serious efforts.

The Governor of the capital explained that community partnership contributes to achieving social peace and enhances security and stability, adding that “we are keen to do our duty, and we always emphasize that our hands are extended to everyone who wants to serve the city and the public interest.”

Lamlas pointed to the successes of the Revenue Development Center in raising local and joint revenues and reducing financial waste, revealing work on introducing new channels that would contribute to enhancing revenues further.

He reviewed the problems facing the electricity, water, health and education sectors in the capital, Aden, and the efforts of the local authority to solve them.

In turn, Ambassador Janet referred to aspects of relief support and future plans for interventions and contributions to the peace process, noting the importance of supporting women in the decision-making process.
