In presence of Al-Jaadi..Decision Making Support Center holds consultative meeting entitled ” Riyadh Agreement between Reality and Ambition”

The decision-making support center of the Southern Transitional Council held, on Sunday, in the capital, Aden, a consultative meeting, entitled “Riyadh Agreement between Reality and Ambition”, in the presence of Mr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council.

Al-Jaadi delivered a speech in which he conveyed to the attendees the greetings of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, expressing his happiness to accept the invitation to attend this consultative meeting, which deals with the Riyadh Agreement, its reality and ambition.

Al-Jaadi indicated that the Riyadh Agreement, after its passed period, still suffers from obstacles that were placed to disrupt it, and on the other hand, there are other efforts to advance and implement it, stressing the importance of the outcomes of this meeting to become practical before it is theoretical, especially since the participants in the meeting are a qualitative elite of professors and experts, wishing them success in their discussions.

Dr. Khaled Bamedhaf, head of the Decision-Making Support Center, opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, noting that this event falls within the activities of the Decision-Making Support Center as a primary task for it in the context of discussing and addressing issues for the people of the South, including the challenges facing the Southern Transitional Council.

In the context about the Riyadh Agreement, Dr. Bamedhaf said: “The national movement of the Transitional Council on the ground made it necessary to invite the Council, to be a party at the negotiating table for the agreement, and it is considered a historical case and a breakthrough for the Council’s struggle, as the Riyadh Agreement represented a qualitative leap for the Council, and in recognition of it, after dealing with the South before only as southern and eastern provinces.”

Bamedhaf added: “Through this meeting, we need a real opinion on the reality of the Riyadh Agreement’s path and ambitions,” stressing that everyone should push for the implementation of this agreement to confront the state of stumbling it is suffering from, noting the role of the Transitional Council and what it has done to overcome this stumbling and to conduct the political process, calling on the participants to develop ideas to shed light on the Riyadh Agreement and what is needed for it.

Dr. Saleh Taher, a member of the Decision-Making Support Center, presented an intervention entitled “Reading in the political and military scene before and after the Riyadh Agreement”, in which he reviewed the political and military premises for the emergence of the agreement, the post-agreement phase, and the aspirations of the people of the South and their Transitional Council leadership for the priorities after the Riyadh Agreement.

The meeting, in which a qualitative elite from different segments of society participated, witnessed extensive discussions that reviewed the agreement, its developments, and its most prominent aspects, including stopping the bloodshed and strife between the southerners, and its renewal of the principle of equality between the north and the south, and the importance of the agreement and the interest of the regional and international community in it.

The participants enriched the meeting by presenting a summary of their ideas and suggestions regarding the Riyadh Agreement, introducing their view of the path it is moving in, and their expectations and opinions related to the aspirations of the agreement.
