Lamlas and Al-Khabjy Discuss Political Developments with Academics and Politicians in Adan

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Adan – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] The southern transitional council hosted a meeting with academic and political elites in its headquarters in Adan. The meeting was headed by Ahmed Lamlas, secretary general of the council, who welcomed the attendants indicating that the role of academics was very significant in forming the council and the upcoming stage requires more cooperation among the council, academics and social and political elites in addition to youth and students to make the best use of their potentials in enriching the political work. Lamlas provided brief explanation about the work of the general assembly and other departments of the council. Dr. Nasser Al-Khabjy presented the outcomes of the meeting with Martin Griffith, UN Special Delegate to Yemen, describing the meeting as “positive and fruitful” as Griffith indicated the importance of southern participation in any future discussions or negotiations fostered by UN for fair solution and permanent peace. He added that the council is seeking to hold meetings with political wings that didn’t join the umbrella of the council as part of the efforts for unifying all political trends in the south. Mr. Adnan Al-Kaf presented the aspects of cooperation with UAE and the council indicating that 120 mega wat electric power station will be installed next October in addition to broadcasting a southern TV channel soon that will cover the activities of the council. Attendants posed several questions and asserted the importance of notifying academics and political elits with all new political progressions and significant steps through well-coordinated meetings so that academics and politicians can perform their roles more efficiently. Fadl Al-Gaady and Brigadier Nasser Al-Saady attended the meeting.
