Lamlas and Al-Zaabi inaugurate the first phase of Water Corporation’s projects

The Governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed Al-Zaabi, on Wednesday, inaugurated the first phase projects to restore the infrastructure of the local Water and Sanitation Corporation and the Buraiqa Police Station.
The Governor of Aden the capital expressed his appreciation for the broad support of the brothers in the UAE for the infrastructure of the Water and Sanitation Corporation, revealing that the local authority has implemented a number of reforms in the dilapidated network, and that work continues to solve the problem of weak water pumping for citizens.
During the inaugurating ceremony, which was attended by Major General Mutahar Ali Naji, Director of Security of the capital, Aden, and Director of the Water Corporation, Eng. Mohammed Bakhbira, Lamlas explained the keenness to meet the increasing need for water, after it has doubled due to the massive population increase since 2015.
The Governor of the capital pointed to plans to develop the water sector, which include rehabilitating the infrastructure, digging a number of wells to increase the quantities of produced water, in addition to strengthening the institution’s mechanisms and equipment.
