Lamlas and Buhaibeh chair extended meeting to evaluate the health situation in Aden the capital

The governor of the capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, along with the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Bahibeh, chaired on Saturday, an extended meeting of health sector leaders in the capital Aden.
The meeting was devoted to review the urgent developments in the health situation, and the latest updates of the second wave of the emerging corona virus, and ways to confront it.
The Governor of the Capital and the Minister of Health and Population stressed the importance of concerting and intensifying efforts to confront the pandemic, and harnessing all the capabilities of the local authority and the Ministry of Health in this regard, and the need to activate the awareness aspect and to carry out all relevant authorities’ responsibilities in organizing awareness campaigns and urging people to adhere to preventive precautions against the pandemic.
The meeting reviewed the health situation in Aden the capital, the conditions of quarantine centers and other health facilities, and the available capabilities, and what has been achieved in the aspect of training and qualifying the cadres in dealing with infected cases, and the various medical devices for treating Corona.
The meeting discussed the problems facing the activities of the quarantine centers, their needs of medicine, medical devices and oxygen, and the medical and nursing staff, and other requirements.
After extensive discussion and based on a set of proposals submitted by specialists, a number of outputs were agreed upon, most notably, stressing the importance of implementing the decisions of the Emergency Committee in the capital, Aden, with regard to medical precautions, and activating the media aspect, and obligating the concerned authorities to intensify awareness campaigns.
The outputs also included working to provide operational budgets for quarantine centers with the contribution of the local authority, and providing medicines and the needs of various quarantine centers, and assigning Aden Health and Population Office to supervise quarantine centers and a community partnership with businessmen to support the efforts of the local authority and the health sector to confront the second wave of the pandemic, in addition to a number of other decisions in this direction.
