Lamlas and Kalshat hold extended meeting with leaders of electricity sector in Aden the capital

The governor of the capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, and Dr. Anwar Kalshat, Minister of Electricity and Energy, held an extended meeting on Sunday, with the leaders of the electricity sector in Aden the capital.
In the meeting, which was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity Khalil Abdul-Malik, Abdel Hakim Fadel, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry, Abdul Qadir Baslaa, Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, and Mujeeb Al-Shabi, Director General of Aden Electricity Corporation, and his deputies, and station directors and their deputies, the governor of the capital, spoke about the importance and seriousness of the current stage in the electricity sector with the recent situation, and the importance of concerted efforts to address that situation to improve and raise the level of service, especially with the onset of the summer season and the blessed month of Ramadan.
Lamlas referred to the results of communication with the President of the Republic and the intensive meetings with the Prime Minister and its results, including the formation of the Supreme Council of Energy and the decisions taken at its first meeting, stressing the need to unify the decision-making authority in the generation stations and bear one party responsible for managing and coordinating work in them.
The governor Lamlas directed the leadership of the Electricity Corporation to work quickly to address the generation capacity loss and the random and double connection.
For his part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Anwar Kalshat, affirmed the ministry’s follow-up to the situation of Aden Electricity Corporation and the exceptional situation it is going through, indicating that this requires working in a team spirit to face the challenges before it.
Kalshat pointed out that the leadership of the state is represented by the President of the Republic and the government headed by the Prime Minister, who attach great importance to this aspect, follow up on its developments, and constantly direct them to solve its problems and provide for its needs and requirements.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Kalshat stressed that the task is difficult and the legacy is heavy and needs time and great capabilities, and everyone should bear his responsibility, stressing that the ministry will not tolerate any negligent in his work.
In the meeting, a number of issues related to the electricity sector and the current problems facing Aden electricity, which resulted in the decline in electricity service in all regions and districts of the capital, were discussed.
They also touched upon the mechanism of dealing with loss recovery, eliminating random and double linkage, revenue collection, maintenance, and other issues.
