Lamlas discusses with Al-Suhaili activating partnership between civil society organizations and local authority

The Governor of Aden the capital, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, praised the efforts of the Tamdeen Youth Foundation to activate the partnership between civil society organizations, and the government, local authorities and the private sector in order to achieve economic recovery, rehabilitate basic services, and improve the standard of living of citizens.

This came during his meeting on Sunday, in his office, with the head of the foundation, coordinator of settlement and economic recovery initiatives, Mr. Hussein Al-Suhaili, who delivered a presentation of the two initiatives, and explained their goals in raising the efficiency of the humanitarian response in Yemen, and adopting a comprehensive approach and participatory planning to move the wheel of economic growth, while enhancing the sustainability of interventions, including job creation and support for strategic productive sectors.

In the meeting, the governor expressed the local authority’s readiness to provide all aspects of support to civil society organizations to enable them to achieve the goals of the two initiatives, and to implement their programs and activities in the humanitarian and development fields to the fullest.

Lamlas stressed that the local authority places at the forefront of its current program and plan to achieve economic recovery, work on developing available resources, and optimizing revenues, in addition to addressing challenges in providing public services, in parallel with enhancing security and stability, so that Aden regains its position in attracting investments and the development industry.

For his part, Mr. Hussein Al-Suhaili praised the efforts made by Governor Lamlas to normalize the situation and develop solutions to many of the problems facing Aden the capital and its citizens, foremost of which are electricity, water, health and education services.

Al-Suhaili stressed the keenness of civil society organizations to create a partnership with the local authority to help it overcome service problems, and to integrate with it in planning and coordination to direct the largest amount of humanitarian aid towards development programs and sustainable projects, and to prepare a joint agenda to build the capacities of public institutions, advance productive sectors, and achieve desired stability in economy.
