Lamlas discusses with delegation of International Committee of Red Cross a number of humanitarian issues

The governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, met on Tuesday, in his office in the capital with a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Governor M. Adnan Al-Kaf, Governor Lamlas, welcomed the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross headed by Ms. Catherine Reeds, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Yemen.

The meeting included introducing the new director of the committee’s office in Aden, Ms. Beatrice, and bidding farewell to the former director, Mr. Abdul Rahman Ismail Issa, in this regard, the governor Lamlas praised the efforts of Mr. Issa during his period in Aden, expressing thanks to him for his efforts, as well as the role of all members of the ICRC mission in helping the local authority to confronting the Corona pandemic and its interventions in other humanitarian and service fields.

At the same time, Lamlas welcomed the new director, Ms. Beatrice, stressing the local authority’s full support for her and overcoming any difficulties facing the mission’s activity and work in Aden.

The governor of the capital, Aden, discussed with the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross the arrangements for the visit of the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, while the head of the ICRC mission in Yemen, Mrs. Catherine Reeds, reviewed the organization’s interventions, noting that there are commitments for projects that Aden needs in the long term and on multiple stages.

During the meeting, Governor Lamlas raised the problem of the continued closure of the “Dhale-Damt-Sana’a” road, and the resulting severe suffering for citizens traveling through this vital road, as well as the difficulty of humanitarian aid reaching those affected by the war in the country’s various governorates and impeding the commercial movement between the provinces.

The meeting was attended by Abu Bakr Ba’Obaid, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, and Bahaa Al-Salami, Assistant Head of Mission and Political Adviser, and Eng. Mohammed Obaid, and Fahd Al-Khulaifi from the Governor’s Advisory Team for Organizational Affairs
