Lamlas discusses with UNESCO the rehabilitation and maintenance of buildings and archaeological and historical sites in Aden the capital

The Minister of State, Governor of Aden the capital, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, discussed with the Director of the UNESCO Project in Yemen, Nuno Olvera, the project to rehabilitate and maintain buildings and archaeological and historical sites in Seera District, which is being implemented by UNESCO with funding from the European Union.
The meeting touched on a number of topics related to the project, including the work to include the city of Crater in the list of historical cities, the rehabilitation and maintenance of the National Museum “Sultan’s Palace”, the Military Museum and the municipal market, and the implementation of the strategic project that includes repairing the flood channels from the seven dams to the sea, in addition to the appropriate mechanism to protect archaeological and historical sites and buildings.
The Minister of State, Governor of Aden, stressed the importance of the project and achieving its goals, which include preserving the privacy of archaeological and historical places and sites, stressing the readiness of the local authority to provide all facilities and overcome the difficulties that obstruct the progress of work, in a way that preserves the city of Aden’s historical architectural appearance and style.
