Lamlas holds emergency meeting with districts directors in Aden the capital to confront the air depression

The governor of the capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, held an emergency meeting on Wednesday, with directors of the districts, which was devoted to discussing efforts to confront the air depression that occurred in the districts of the capital.

At the outset of the meeting, the governor Lamlas praised the rapid action of the relevant authorities, first and foremost the local authorities in the districts, in dealing with the rain waste that the capital witnessed, and working on suctioning water and harnessing the available resources for that.

Lamels stressed the need to continue these efforts of suctioning water, filtering streets and places of water gathering, and to remain in a state of complete readiness in anticipation of the possibility of the return of rain in the coming days, directing to raise the readiness of all equipment and crews participating in these works.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of a number of issues presented by directors of the districts, especially with regard to the difficulties encountered in the implementation of the suction and filtering of rain waste.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to aspects of services in the districts, such as problems of power outages, water pumping, hygiene and other issues, and proposals to address them.

The meeting took a number of treatments and assignments, the most prominent of which is the speed of work to purchase (fixed) water suction pumps, according to high specifications and quality, and distributing them to the districts to face future rain and flood disasters, in addition to strengthening sanitation efforts.

The meeting approved the commissioning of the Public Works and Roads Office, in coordination with the directors of the districts, to implement spraying campaigns in all districts, coinciding with the water suction works, in order to avoid any health or environmental damage caused by the water accumulation.

The meeting also approved directing all security and executive agencies to enhance the efforts of local authorities in implementing water suction and rainwater filtering.

In addition, the meeting tasked directors of the districts with identifying priority and important projects in the emergency investment program, which included a number of projects submitted by them, and preparing and submitting proposals aimed at enhancing and raising the level of financial revenues in the districts.
