The Minister of State, Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, received in his office on Thursday, the Deputy Dutch Ambassador to Yemen, Mr. Marika Werda, and the First Secretary of the Embassy for Political Affairs, Ms. Tessa Scholma.
In the meeting which was attended by the undersecretary of the Governorate, Salah Al-Aqel, Governor Lamlas welcomed at the outset of the meeting the Dutch deputy ambassador and her accompanying delegation, praising the Dutch role in supporting peace efforts in our country and the region, as well as the prominent role of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in supporting development efforts.
During the meeting, Governor Lamlas reviewed the efforts made by the local authority to improve the situation in the capital, Aden, and what it has accomplished in terms of revenue development, through an integrated center for collecting all financial resources from its various sources at the center and district level, according to an integrated electronic system that achieves the highest level of efficiency in this aspect.
Governor Lamlas indicated that the establishment of the center was at the top of the priorities of the local authority in the capital, Aden, and its plans to fully move to the automation system and networking, stressing that this center is a pioneering and unprecedented experience at the country level, and it will be circulated to the rest of the governorates to benefit from it. .
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the interventions of international organizations in the capital, Aden. In this regard, Governor Lamlas stressed the need for support to focus on infrastructure projects and services, and for the response and solutions to be radical and sustainable.
The meeting also discussed the role of the local authority in activating community partnership, through the formation of community committees, and the important role played by these committees in addressing local issues in neighborhoods, and in providing protection for public and private property in times of conflict and security imbalances.
