Lamlas stresses importance of continuous support and interventions of United States Agency for International Development

The Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, on Monday, during his meeting with the Acting Assistant Director General of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Mr. Andy Plitt, at Ma’ashiq Palace, stressed the importance of the agency support in humanitarian and development aspects, to overcome challenges in the country.

Lamlas pointed to the economic and service conditions and the need to enhance recovery, absorb donor pledges and support the implementation of reform policies, and the impact of USAID programs and its interventions in various sectors, in addition to supporting financial and banking reform programs.

During the meeting, Lamlas and Plitt discussed the importance of directing USAID’s efforts and interventions to the development side, and sustainable projects that help the community to stand firm.

For his part, the Assistant Director General of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) expressed his pleasure at this meeting, noting that the agency devoted about one billion and two million dollars to support the humanitarian and development aspects in Yemen during the past year, and it is keen to strengthen this support and direct it according to the priorities required by the country’s economic and service conditions. .
