Lamlas: Violations of Al-Houthis Will Never Fall by Statute of Limitations and History Will Remember Al-Dhala’a as an Icon of Sacrifice and Resistance
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]A[/su_dropcap]hmed Hamed Lamlas, secretary general of the Southern Transitional Council, opened a documentary exhibition including photos and videos prepared by the council’s department of human rights.
Lamlas indicated that crimes and violations of Al-Houthis against civilians and children in Al-Dhala’a will never fall by statute of limitations and as the southern resistance and armed forces managed to exhaust the aggression of Al-Houthis, the southern will manage to put criminals on international trials for rightful punishments for their crimes and violations.
Secretary general said: We are attending this exhibition that shows photos of civilians, elderly, women and children who are injured. Can only pay homage for the braves of Al-Dhala’a who represent the icon of sacrifice and resistance.
Zekra Matouq, chairperson of the human rights department explained in details sectors of the exhibition and its contents including photos of damaged areas and remains of missiles and rockets launched by Al-Houthis against civilians’ houses.
A short documentary showing suffering of residents and violations against them was displayed in addition to a map of border areas of fighting. In addition, the exhibition included an English copy of reports filed to international bodies about violations of Al-Houthis in Al-Dhala’a.
Marouq indicated that the department is observing carefully all types of violations, not only in Al-Dhala’a, but also al over the south as the department has an accurate database that regularly files reports in English to international experts and concerned bodies. She asserted that this exhibition includes only samples of severe violations against human rights and civilian life in Al-Dhala’a asserting that reality in Al-Dhala’a is much bitter and painful due to continuous war.
Matouq demanded the Supreme Commission of Human Rights and all international bodies to pay special care for Al-Dhala’a and to interfere urgently to save citizens and stop the war launched by Al-Houthi militias. She asserted that the report dealt with the tragic situation caused by Al-Houthis and warned against the risks faced by refugees due to this war. The report also recommended conflicting parties to maintain rules of engagement and not to target civilians.
