Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), the Chairman of the National Assembly, on Sunday, chaired a joint meeting of the executive bodies of the local leaderships of STC in the governorates of Al-Dhalea and Lahj.

In the meeting, Major General Bin Brik praised the efforts made by the two local leaderships of STC in Lahj and Al-Dhalea, and the Southern Armed Forces in the two governorates, and their national role as the first line of defense for borders, land and supply.

In the context, the Acting President of STC reviewed a number of issues related to the work of STC, foremost of which is the process of structuring STC, updating its documents, and expanding its bodies, stressing that this procedure is consistent with the goal for which the STC was established as an umbrella for all southerners with their various affiliations and orientations without exclusion or marginalization, and an important necessity to keep abreast of political and field developments.

Major General Bin Brik stressed the need to make more efforts to strengthen the cohesion of the home front and strengthen the social fabric among all the people of the South.

Major General Bin Brik affirmed the adherence of the leadership of STC, in its last meeting, to the right of the South to approve all political, economic, financial, military, and security issues, and everything related to the South, or affecting the rights and interests of its people, and its sovereignty over its wealth and land.

The Chairman of the National Assembly referred to the ongoing preparations for holding the comprehensive southern consultative meeting, which is to be held during the coming period in the capital, Aden, and the sixth session of the National Assembly to be held in Hadramout.
