Major General Bin Brik confirms Transitional Council’s keenness to reopen the National Library to serve scientific research

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly met on Sunday, in his office in the capital Aden, Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Brik, deputy Head of the General Book Authority, Director General of the National Library in the capital, Aden.
In the meeting, Major General Bin Brik welcomed Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Brik, and listened from him to an explanation of the problems facing the library during the period of the unjust war of 2015, against the capital, Aden, and the resulting major damage to its infrastructure, as well as the looting of its equipment and furniture during that period.
The Director General of the National Library referred to what the association of Mother of Emirates, represented by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and the Emirates Red Crescent, has done after the war in rehabilitating the library from all structural aspects, as well as the restoration work done by the Construction Office for some parts of the library, before it stopped working due to the second bombing that the library exposed to in 2018.
For his part, Major General Bin Brik stressed that the National Library is a great cultural and scientific reference, and it must be preserved and attention should be paid to the remaining books and scientific references in it, pointing to the Southern Transitional Council’s keenness to reopen it to carry out its work in the service of scientific research and to enhance the cultural and knowledge aspect.
Major-General Bin Brik pointed out that the leadership of the Transitional Council is striving to rehabilitate and restore monuments and historical symbols within the capital, Aden, in particular, and the governorates of the South in general.
