Major General Bin Brik Discusses Aden Refinery Activities

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Monday, with the General Director of Aden Refinery, Eng. Ahmed Musaed, and Dr. Mohammad Ahmed Al-Saqqaf, Technical Director of the company.
In the meeting, in which Mr. Obaid Mohammad Baqis, a member of the Higher Economic Committee of the STC and a member of the Oil Committee, participated, the General Director of the Aden Refinery reviewed three vital projects to restore the activities of the refinery and preserve its lands from random and urban expansion and actions of intruding and encroachment, which impede the expansion of its work, as well as completing the project of a power plant to operate the refinery.
The meeting discussed the problem of smuggling non-conforming petroleum-based products to Aden, which negatively affected the Aden Refinery Company as well as the Oil Company and also affected the revenues of the capital, Aden, and ways to solve it.
Major General Bin Brik praised the efforts being made to restore the lifeline in the refinery and gave directives to combat the smuggling of non-conforming petroleum-based products from the ports of Hodeidah and Mokka.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Qassem, office director of the chairman of the National Assembly.
