Major General Bin Brik meets with Head of Dutch mission of Medecins Sans Frontieres

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met on Tuesday, at the Assembly’s headquarters, with Ms. Federica Ferraresi, head of Dutch mission of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by lawyer Niran Sooki, member of the Presidency, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, in which Major General Bin Brik delivered to Ms. Ferraresi a brief explanation of the latest developments about the situation on the southern arena, foremost of which is the security situation in the capital, Aden, in particular and the South in general, and the deterioration in all basic and service sectors, in addition to the accelerating collapse of the value of the local currency, and the complete absence of the government from performing its duty towards citizens.
Major General Bin Brik pointed out that there are malicious hands that are working hard to destabilize security and ignite chaos within Aden the capital, and the South in general, stressing that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council is working hard to eradicate those hands tampering with the security and stability of the South.
For her part, Ms. Federica Ferraresi expressed thanks to Major General Bin Brik, for the kind reception, explaining the neutral role and the medical and humanitarian work of the mission in Yemen, away from political conflicts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Bin Brik stressed the provision of facilities and securing the work of the Dutch mission and other international missions and organizations, so that it can provide its humanitarian service to the fullest.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee in the National Assembly and his deputy, Salma Bazira. The meeting was also attended by Ahmed Qassem, Director of the Office of the President of the Assembly, and from the delegation’s side, Majid Muhammad Muthanna, official of the Dutch Doctors Without Borders office in Aden.
