Major General Bin Brik Meets with Secretary General of Association for Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met on Tuesday, with Mr. Mohammad Sultan Fare’a, Secretary General of the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind.

In the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Sultan presented to Major General Ben Brik a historical overview of the Association, which was founded in 1952, and what has happened to its building since 1994, pointing to the self-efforts exerted by its members to promote the association at a level befitting its ancient history and saying that they seek to establish a center cares for this segment of people with special needs.

During the meeting, which was attended by Marwa Al-Saqqaf, project manager at the Association, the secretary general of the association pointed out that we have several programs, including the establishment of training courses for the blind in the use of computers, and have also organized a number of courses that contribute to the development of this segment and its integration into society.

Major General Ahmed Saeed praised the self-efforts exerted by the association’s management and staff to improve its work and develop the capabilities of the blind, which will contribute to their integration and involvement in society and benefit from those capabilities, asserted that the leadership of the STC pays great attention to all segments of society, including people with special needs, and encourages them to work and polish up their skills and creative faculties to enable them to integrate into society and to be exemplary representatives inside and outside the South.

It is worth mentioning that the secretary general of the association for the care and rehabilitation of the blind expressed thanks to the political leadership of the STC, represented by President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi and his Vice President, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, for their attention and magnanimity in resolving issues related to people with special needs
