Major General Bin Brik stresses importance of media in strengthening southern cohesion

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Chairman of the National Assembly, held on Tuesday, a joint meeting with members of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Southern Media, the leadership of the Southern Journalists Syndicate, and a number of media members from several media institutions and editor-in-chiefs of southern newspapers and news websites, and social media activists in the capital, Aden.
In the meeting, Major General Bin Brik expressed his happiness at meeting this constellation of journalists and media members after the great results achieved by the first conference of southern journalists and media members, praising the formation of the Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate, which is reliable to serve the reality of the southern media, and triumph for all southern journalists and media members.
The Acting President of STC stressed the importance of the media role at this important stage in creating national alignment, spreading the spirit of tolerance, contributing in strengthening southern cohesion, shaping public opinion and directing it in the right direction, in light of the upcoming political changes and events in order to achieve the legitimate and just goals and aspirations of the people of the South in restoring and building the state over the entire national territory.
Major General Bin Brik stressed the importance of unifying discourse and media messages and avoiding quarrels and rumors that enemies try to spread through websites or social media to stir up regional and sectarian strife among the people of the South.
At the meeting, Major General Bin Brik reviewed the results of the external visits of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, and the strategic vision of the council and its directions for the current and upcoming stage.
