Meeting to enhance maritime security in the coasts of Hadhramaut and Somalia

Naval Lieutenant Colonel Omar Awad Al-Sai, Commander of the Coast Guard Forces in Hadhramaut, received on Thursday, the Somali Ambassador, Abdullah Hashi Shoreh, in the city of Mukalla to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two sides.
The bilateral meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in order to enhance joint maritime security in the maritime areas between Hadhramaut and Somalia.
They also discussed the mechanisms of both parties to combat piracy and smuggling of all kinds, and the difficulties facing seafarers from the two countries and efforts to address them.
Lieutenant-Colonel Al-Sai stressed that the Coast Guard Command in Hadhramaut should provide various facilities to the Somali side within the scope of its competence, urging the Somali authorities to grant facilities to fishermen among the citizens.
