Minister of Agriculture discusses rehabilitation works of Tawahi fishing port project

The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Salem Al-Soqtri, discussed on Thursday, with representatives of the United Nations Development Program, the implementation of the fishing port rehabilitation project and its annexes, in Tawahi District, at an amount of (35) million US dollars.
During the meeting with the project manager, Tom Trod, at the ministry’s general office in the capital, Aden, Al-Soqtri discussed the level of achievement in all construction works being implemented in development projects related to the fisheries sector, the stages of port rehabilitation and the rest of the work in the facilities related to the infrastructure.
Minister Al-Soqtri touched on the rate of completion of the fisheries development project in the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea, which is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program and its local partners, which includes interventions related to the rehabilitation of a number of fish landing centers in the governorates.
The Minister urged the speedy completion of restoration work according to the Ministry’s plan, stressing his keenness to protect economic and development facilities and support them to play their role in supporting the national economy.
