Minister of Electricity meets UAE Ambassador and reveals operation date of the solar station in the capital, Aden

Ambassador Mohammed Al-Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to our country, received Eng. Mana Bin Yameen, Minister of Electricity and Energy, to discuss joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the field of energy.

The two sides reviewed the progress of studies and ongoing projects to develop the efficiency of the energy sector, electricity system, and rates of implementation of the 120 megawatt solar energy station project with an Emirati grant in the capital, Aden.

During the meeting, Bin Yameen presented an aspect of the efforts of the Ministry and the Electricity Corporation to follow up on the project in preparation for the station to enter service during the next two months, and to benefit from it by reducing the current deficit in electricity generation in the capital.

The Minister of Electricity said that the United Arab Emirates is considered a pioneer in the field of renewable energy and has a leadership experience in transitioning to clean energy, expressing his aspiration to benefit from the UAE’s expertise in developing the electricity and energy sector.

For his part, the UAE Ambassador expressed the interest of his country’s leadership in continuing to provide various forms of service and development support.
