Minister of Health Inaugurates the Middle East Community Health Network (MECHN) Office in Aden the Capital

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Mohammed Buhaibeh, inaugurated the MECHN office in the capital, Aden. The opening ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the Primary Health Care Sector, Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Walidi, and the Executive Director of the Network’s Educational Academy and Director of the Regional Center of Excellence for Epidemiology, Professor Youssef Al-Qaoud.
The Minister marked the official opening of the office and listened to a detailed explanation of its tasks and its anticipated role in enhancing areas of health cooperation, particularly those related to training programs and capacity building in the field of field epidemiology.
In his speech, the Minister of Health emphasized that the opening of Aden office represents a qualitative addition to strengthening the partnership between the Ministry and the MECHN, praising the tangible contributions made by the network in raising the efficiency of health personnel and expressed his hope that The new office contributes to expanding the horizons of technical cooperation and advancing it to more distinguished levels.
For his part, Professor Al-Qaoud pointed out the importance of opening the Aden office as a strategic step to enable national cadres to benefit from specialized training programs in epidemiology, thus enhancing Yemen’s capacity to respond to various health challenges and pandemics.
