Monitoring operation succeeds in assassinating al-Qaeda element in Abyan
Security and local sources said that the southern resistance in Abyan governorate killed an al-Qaeda element who assassinated a soldier in the security belt, named Ali Mohammad Awad Bahlas.
The sources said that the soldier was assassinated at Tanukh check point about a month ago by terrorist elements in the central region of Abyan.
The security source of the Southern Resistance Operations revealed that it spotted the deadly terrorist, one of the al-Qaeda militants in the Yemeni province of Ma’rib, and was targeted last night when he was on a motorbike with a colleague on their way to return to the Akkad camp.
The source added that while he was near the camp, the southern resistance ambushed him leading to his killing and injuring his other colleague.
