New support for health sector in Aden provided by World Bank and World Health Organization

The Ministry of Public Health and Population in the capital, Aden, received a shipment of medical equipment and supplies provided by the World Bank through the World Health Organization. The equipment, which comes within the human capital project, is intended to support hospitals and health facilities supported by the World Bank.

The equipment, valued at $6 million, includes regular and mobile X-ray machines, ventilators, laboratory devices, other medical supplies, intravenous fluids, chronic disease medications, blood diseases, and dialysis.

During the handover, which was attended by Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, the undersecratary of the ministry of Public Health, the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Mohammed Buhaibeh, stressed the need to make maximum use in improving the level of service performance in the health facilities targeted for support, praising the support provided by the World Bank to the health sector, including the support for the human capital project.

For his part, the representative of the World Health Organization in our country, Dr. Artorubesijan, pointed out the importance of devices and equipment that come within the framework of strengthening the health system and improving the performance of hospitals supported by the World Bank through the World Health Organization, noting the strength of the existing partnership between the Ministry of Public Health and Population and its partners in the health sector.
