NSMA Deputy Head Receives Professor Hoffman from USA Northwestern University

Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe’y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received on Wednesday at NSMA’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, Dr. Brent Edward Hoffman, a professor at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Yafe’y warmly welcomed Dr. Hoffman, who is undertaking a mission to create a documentary film on antiquities and civilization across various regions of the country, with a specific focus on Hadhramaut, highlighting the national significance of documenting the heritage and history of the South as a vital extension of the region’s rich history.

Al-Yafe’y elaborated that despite the ongoing challenges, conflict, and devastation, we remain committed to documenting the history, safeguarding antiquities, and preserving national and popular heritage as an integral part of our national identity of the South, reaffirming the readiness of NSMA to provide facilities and support to visiting delegations, as well as local and international academic and scientific institutions, in pursuit of this noble national goal.

For his part, Dr. Hoffman expressed his delight at visiting the capital, Aden, and acknowledged the facilitation provided by NSMA to accomplish his mission of filming a documentary on archaeological and cultural sites.
