NSMA Head Discusses Coordination and Partnership with the Chancellor of Aden University

Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and official Spokesman of the STC, met today, Tuesday, with Dr. Al-Khadr Lasuar, Chancellor of the University of Aden, at the main building of the university in the capital, Aden.

In the meeting, Mr. Al-Awlaqi highlighted the importance of coordination and partnership between NSMA and the University of Aden, especially with the Faculty of Media and colleges related to media work, indicating that this comes in light of the ongoing efforts of NSMA to expand the circle of coordination and partnership with all activities, institutions, universities, and colleges related to media work.

Al-Awlaqi stated that the main goal is to serve the educational and academic process at the University of Aden and the College of Media and Mass Communication in particular, and to improve the outputs of this emerging college for the benefit of the students, who represent the future generation and the mainstay of media in the South.

He outlined NSMA’s contributions in terms of coordination and support for the Faculty of Media, indicating that the authority discussed a matrix of ideas and proposals that were exchanged with the dean of the faculty, hoping that the leadership of the University of Aden would have a role in strengthening these joint efforts and transforming that matrix into a practical reality, including finding a separate building for the College of Media during the coming phase and setting up training studios for college students in partnership with NSMA.

For his part, the Chancellor of the University of Aden praised the role played by NSMA in its efforts to create a joint coordination and partnership with the University of Aden and its ongoing communication and coordination with the deanship of the college and providing support and assistance to it, affirming that this partnership between the authority and the university will definitely have a positive impact on improving the academic situation and educational process in the media field.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Wahib Aziban, Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Saddam Abdullah Ali, Head of the Journalism and Modern Media Sector at NSMA, Dr. Abdullah Al-Haw, Head of the Media and Political Training and Qualification Sector at the Training and Qualification Authority, Mr. Najeeb Muqbel, Rapporteur of NSMA, and a number of officials of the university main building.
