Political Body of STC organizes a symposium on role of media, politics and literature in achieving independence, restoring and building state of the south

Nasser Al-Khubaji, head of the political body assisting the presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), stressed the importance of integrating the roles between media and politics in supporting the just cause of the people of the south.
During a symposium entitled “The Role of Media, Politics and Literature in Achieving National Independence and Building and Restoring the State of the South”, with the participation of an elite group of writers, cultural, journalistic and political figures, Al-Khubaji pointed out the importance of national awareness and strengthening the southern identity as two pillars for achieving independence and restoring the state of the south.
In turn, Dr. Khaled Bamadhaf, Vice President of the Political Body, called for benefiting from the lessons and experiences of the struggle to achieve independence and restore the south, stressing that the current stage requires unifying intellectual, political and cultural efforts.
Dr. Salem Al-Salfi reviewed a paper on the role of literature, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hadi on the importance of the media, and Dr. Saleh Taher on political aspects, amid discussions on ways to coordinate between media, politics and literature to support the cause of the people of the south.
The participants in the symposium urged the restoration of the southern identity that was marginalized after the unification, stressing the support of cultural and educational institutions and centers, and activating the role of cinema and theater to enhance awareness of the southern national identity, and preserve the southern cultural and historical heritage.
They called for a clear strategy and policies for the southern media, which enhances its national message and unifies its efforts to support the cause of the people of the south, calling for openness to foreign media to convey the aspirations of the people of the south to the world.
They pointed out the importance of continuing the southern national dialogue as a comprehensive framework for unifying ranks and enhancing national consensus towards restoring the state of the south.
