Political Department of the Southern Transitional Council of Abian Holds a Political Seminar in Zanzibar

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Zanzibar – Abian – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] On Thursday September 20th, 2018, Political Department of the Southern Transitional Council of Abian held a Political Seminar in Zanzibarwith participation of elites of the governorate.
The seminar was directed by Salem Saleh, chairman of Political Department of the Southern Transitional Council of Abian, where three papers were presented. The first paper was presented by Dr. Saudi Ali Obaid and dealt with the current political scene in the light of coup and war. He indicated that war is being controlled by several elaborate parties indicating that controlling Al-Hodeida is necessary for war and negotiations.
The second paper was presented by Dr, Nasser Mekrat Al-Yousufi and dealt with the deterioration of the educational process with high rates of cheating and increase of drop-outs in addition to decreases in women’s education rates. He indicated that according to UNESCO reports, People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen achieved the highest rates of education and literacy in the Arab World. He indicated that although more schools were built after the union but the process itself deteriorated dramatically.
The third paper was presented by Dr. Mubarak Al-Hamsi, secretary of the economic department of the Southern Transitional Council of Abian. The paper dealt with public services conditions in Abian and deterioration of these services in irrigation, agriculture, health and electricity. He indicated that this deterioration had tragic effects due to the negative effects of 2011-2015 wars that almost destroyed all aspect of infrastructure and human life as most residents lost their shelters and turned into refugees under very deteriorated economic conditions due to high prices and deterioration of national currency. He indicated that these factors raise fears of hunger and vague future.
